Railwayania's Digital 'OO' Gauge Shop Layout

Heazemouth Junction has evolved over the past few years into a loose representation of a BR Southern Region Junction circa the 1960s: the last days of Steam and the widespread establishment of Diesel and Electric Locomotive Traction on British Rail. That said, we're prone to running a few Class 66s every now and again too..!

TRACK_LAYOUT

Technical Information
The Code 100 track is a mixture of Peco and Hornby Flexible and Semi-Flexible Track, Fourth Radius Set-Curves and Crossovers (Points).
The layout was initially conceived to demonstrate the Hornby Elite DCC system. We now operate Heazemouth Junction with a Lenz Set 100 control system powered by a Lenz TR150 transformer that provides 4.67 amps of power to the track.
Two Lenz LS150 accessory decoders powered independently by a Lenz TR100 control the crossovers in the shop area. Most of the crossovers 'throw' in pairs - for this we use 'Masterswitch's (which are in effect capacitance discharge units) independently powered by a separate 12 Volt DC source. All crossovers in the shop area use Peco PL-10E Point Motors.
Crossovers in the stockroom are controlled by a Lenz LS100 accessory decoder (powered from the track). This decoder operates four independent Peco PL-11 surface mount Point Motors. Peco PL-15 Dual Micro Switches are attached to the arms of the crossovers and operate the LED display seen in the shop area.
As the track enters the third room it passes onto a reverse loop operated by a Lenz LK100 module. Also, we have recently added a Lenz BM2 automatic brake module for use on trains approaching the junction on the 'branch' line.
